Breaking the Silence Workshop – 60 minutes

In this session we look at the best ways of building personal resilience and reducing stress during exceptionally challenging times. We focus on both individual mental health and how best to support those around you. Learning outcomes include: how to assess your own mental health and improve levels of personal resilience to cope with emotionally taxing times. How to spot the signs that a colleague maybe suffering with poor mental health and then how best to start a wellbeing conversation without making them feel awkward. We explore the importance of using the right language to encourage honest and open conversation about wellbeing and look at how to inspire our fellow employees to be more open by saying ‘it’s okay not to be okay’ and by sharing our own vulnerabilities. The role of this workshop is to provide insight on how to create a kinder culture where people are caring, supportive and more empathic of each other’s anxieties.

Thriving Through Change: A Neuroscience Approach to Wellbeing – 90 minutes

MHFA Development Workshop – Training for Mental Health First Aiders – 4 hours

After their initial two days of training, it is important that MentalHealth First Aiders receive ongoing training and development. This workshop will provide the following learning outcomes: We build their confidence in having mental health conversations when approached by an employee by introducing a five-step framework being used successfully throughout the UK. We look to improve their skills in opening up a conversation with an employee who is clearly suffering in silence and currently unwilling to talk about their wellbeing. We look at what is currently working really well for MHFAs in other companies and organisations. We look at the best ways they can support their business increating a stigma free culture whilst re-clarify the scope and boundaries of their role. David, your trainer, will use his experience as a mental health counsellor to help employees understand how you build trust and the importance of knowing when and how to disclose appropriately. With these enhanced skills, MHFAs will be better equipped to support employee wellbeing and contribute to a mentally healthy workplace.
