While Paul Borrow-Longain has never been a rower, and frankly given his neurological condition would be unable to partake, even if he wanted, it was wonderful to watch these outstanding amateur athletes competing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both the men’s and women’s race was won squarely by Cambridge University again this year, the Oxford crews showed commitment and dedication until they crossed the finishing line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the President of Oxford stated in an interview with the BBC, the race has only two teams, so you either win or you lose, it’s all part of the sport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While winning is of significant importance and pride for the winning crews, Paul believes it’s equally important to remember the months of hard work and dedication displayed by the rowers, while simultaneously completing their academic studies at two of the best universities in the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The crews showed the importance of dedication, perseverance, teamwork and what can be achieved with the right outlook and goal setting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Oxford lost on the day, they are all winners in other areas of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
