{"id":1033,"date":"2023-03-11T12:18:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-11T12:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.farnes.net\/paul\/?p=1033"},"modified":"2023-04-07T12:26:41","modified_gmt":"2023-04-07T12:26:41","slug":"british-science-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.farnes.net\/paul\/british-science-week\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a0British Science Week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Since childhood Paul Borrow-Longain has had a strong interest and passion for all scientific disciplines, though with a strong leading towards space exploration, astrophysics, physics and mathematics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Believing in the importance of science he retains his interest in adulthood, and has been active in promoting the prominence of science, especially in youth, as it is critical for future career prospects.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Connections\u2019 is an apt theme for British Science Week 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly all innovations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics are built on connections between people. As&nbsp; well as exploring the importance and exhilaration in connections between individual scientists, research groups and institutions, you equally discover the diverse ways relationships appear across all areas of science. Evolution has shown us the ways that all animals, as well as plants and bacteria are all connected stretching back millennia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is Pauls ardent hope that science can be introduced to young people in an engaging and exciting way, to ensure that they enjoy and wish to continue to learn. Science continually evolves, what was taught to me in the 1990s isn&#8217;t all correct in 2023. Scientific advancement comes from informed individuals making hypotheses, and working to prove (or disprove) them, both are equally important.
